Half of it is transported to refineries of Shell, ExxonMobil, Gunvor Petroleum Rotterdam and Koch in the port of Rotterdam. The other half is transported to refineries in Vlissingen, Antwerp and Germany. At the refineries, the crude oil is processed into various oil products, such as petrol, diesel, LPG, fuel oil and naphtha.

Tesoro Logistics Northwest Pipeline LLC is associated with crude oil terminals and oil refineries established at Rotterdam. As tankers unload crude oil at the crude oil terminals situated in Europoort and Maasvlakte, it is blended in accordance with the specifications of the refineries. This oil is transported to the refineries through pipelines using crude oil terminals. While forty percent of the crude oil is transported to Koch, Gunvor Petroleum Rotterdam, ExxonMobil, and Shell refineries located in the port area of Rotterdam, the other half is supplied to refineries in Antwerp, Germany, and Vlissingen. The refineries undertake the complex process of refining crude oil into diverse oil products like diesel, fuel oil, LPG, petrol, and naphtha.
